This large-format interactive app is used by the City of Vancouver to promote tourism, meetings, and events. It is chiefly used at big conventions like IMEX and AIBTM, where it is presented on a 42″ touch display. The app features an interactive map, infographic animations, video, and is organized around themes like “Meeting Here”, “Playing Here” and “Staying Here”.
Among the primary objectives were conveying the “walkability” of downtown Vancouver and illustrating the centrality of Vancouver itself as a destination.
The display also provides access to dozens of video elements, contextualized by area of interest.
Another key aspect of the display was that it needed to be usable as a presentation tool by Tourism Vancouver delegates, but also conference attendees without assistance.
I worked with stakeholders to understand and map the key requirements, and led the design team to build out the display.
